We are suckers for local products and when those local products come in the form of whiskey and barrel-aged maple syrup, there's nothing left to do but create an amazing drink recipe. Please note the amount of whiskey and syrup missing from the bottles: we very joyfully created this Grapefruit Whiskey Sour.

We had to hide the barrel-aged maple syrup though.
Why?
Because it is just that good. So good we may have sampled a few too many spoonfuls of it- all.on.its.own.
If you live in Washington you might want to hunt down (or order) this whiskey and maple syrup. If you aren't local, have no fear.
Grab your bottle of maple syrup, favorite whiskey and mix up a double. We did! All with the excuse of presenting you these beautiful pictures.
Enough already - get mixing, shaking and sipping. Happy (belated) National Whiskey Day.

Grapefruit Whiskey Sour - serves 1
Ingredients:
1 1/2 ounces whiskey (we used Woodinville whiskey)
3 ounces fresh sqeezed grapefruit juice
1/2 - 3/4 ounce maple syrup (we used this)
3-4 rosemary leaves
ice
1 slice grapefruit
1 rosemary sprig
Instructions:
1. Combine whiskey through rosemary leaves in a shaker. Add 2-3 ice cubes. Shake briskley for just a couple of seconds.
2. Place a handful of ice into an old fashioned glass. Strain whiskey mixture into the glass.
3. Top with the grapefruit slice and rosemary sprig. Sit back, sip and enjoy.
*Thanks to Woodinville whiskey for making the wonderful bourbon whiskey and
barrel aged maple syrup we used in this drink.
Two Kitchen Collision received no compensation for this recipe and the ingredients and recipe idea were entirely our own. What can we say...we just love finding and using local products and ingredients.
